Water & flood Awareness course - Classroom Based Training
The water and flood awareness course is a first step for people to learn the dangers of working around moving water in floods and rescues. This course is aimed at fire fighters, paramedics, helicopter crews and law enforcement agencies, people who have no experience in the moving water environment and require safety training.
Certified by Rescue 3 International to NFPA standards.
Course duration: 1 or 2 Days
This one day safety course is designed to prevent rescuer fatalities. Explaining the minimum personal protective equipment required before going near the water and instilling a respect of the power of moving water in would be rescuers. It also introduces procedures to follow in the case of wide spread flooding. This course is classroom based and as such after completing this course students are not considered rescuers even under the supervision of a SRT trained rescuer.
This course can also be combined with a practical element for groups particularly wanting to have some experience of the power of moving water.
Course Aims:
We aim to give every student knowledge of the dangers inherent to the swiftwater environment and how to avoid them.
